Step 2: Creating a podcast-friendly sonic environment
	- The ideal space to record audio is in a in small, carpeted room with closed windows and curtains. Why? Large rooms with hard flat surfaces tend to have lots of echo, while smaller rooms with carpets have less echo.

	- Close the windows—this will provide some protection against background noise from the outside from being picked up by the recorder.

	- Record indoors (outdoor areas have too much background noise).

	- Turn off any appliance that makes noise (ex: air conditioners, florescent lights, refrigerators, etc) if you can- the hums could be captured by your recorder, which would decrease the quality of your audio.

	- Remove any jewelry that might make noise that could be picked up by the recorder, and ask if your interview subject can do the same
