The team will be building a robot to compete in the CRC Arcanum 2022 Robotics Competition. There are many exciting aspects to this year’s challenge for students who want to get involved including, but not limited to:

-robot design and construction
-programming
-design and construction of a large kiosk
-scripting, filming and producing video
-website design

There are a variety of different roles and tasks needed for the team. While some experience with robotics would be an asset, it is definitely not a requirement. More information about the roles and tasks with the Dawson Robotics team can be found below for this year's competition:

Robot: involves design, wiring, and construction for the main competition.
Programming: setting up the brain of the robot. Programmers collaborate on the challenge for the main competition, and also can compete in an additional programming competition. Programming knowledge in any language is useful.
Kiosk: design and creation of a kiosk for the competition according to a theme. This year the theme is the video game "Portal". The kiosk is the place where the team works on the robot during the event and stores all materials. The scale is 12 ft x 12 ft.
Video: filming of a bilingual video for the competition according to the theme, with a story, which describes the main event, the robot, the build process, and displays Dawson College.
Website: building a website for the competition according to the theme that is bilingual, shows the students in the club, shows Dawson College, describes the competition, and the robot design.

Other needs for the team include logo creation and t-shirt design.

This year’s preliminary rulebook for Arcanum 2022 which explains the competition in greater detail can be found here. Also, the team uses a discord server for communication and collaboration.
