Please note: if you have completed the form to reserve your glasses, you can pick them up Monday, April 8 between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon in Room 4B.3A-8.

Join SPACE at an unforgettable watch party!

On April 8th Montreal will experience a total solar eclipse for the first time in over 90 years. It will be more than 80 years (in 2106) until the next opportunity comes along, The eclipse will begin around 2:00 p.m., hit totality around 3:20 p.m. when the moon aligns perfectly between the earth and the sun, and end by 4:30 p.m.

Event Details
When: Monday, April 8, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Where:  Dawson grounds—the best place to view the eclipse will be from the parking lot near the gazebo. The moon’s path will begin to touch the sun at 2:14 p.m. To fully experience the anticipation and excitement and to secure a good-watching spot it would be best to arrive early. If you do not want to be present for the entire time, we suggest that you arrive no later than sometime between 2:45 and 3:00 p.m.

SPACE certificate students will receive 2 credits toward their certificate with a further 3 credits on the submission of a reflection (written, illustration, photo…) about the event.
