Use ChatGPT to write an entire song, in whatever style you choose. The goal is to record/perform a version of the song that sticks as closely as possible to what ChatGPT composes while still being a great song! You may need to “massage” the output to make the song work, but the prize will go to the song that deviates as little as possible from ChatGPT’s suggestions – the trick is to prompt it effectively and efficiently.
You can get ChatGPT to generate:
· Lyrics
· Chord changes
· Melodies/harmonies
· Beats
· Suggestions for instrumentation
· Ideas “in the style of .....”
· Etc.
ChatGPT is NOT capable of generating musical notation – but it CAN give you guitar “tabs”, so that is the easiest way to ask it to compose melodies.

How to participate:
Submissions should be recorded (audio and/or video) and submitted along with your complete chatlog (screenshots) so that the resulting song can be compared to ChatGPT’s suggestions. The songs and chatlog screenshots should be submitted using the form below by midnight, May 3rd!

Live performances will be on May 4th as part of SPACE Week in 5B.16 (time: 4:00 PM-5:00 PM). We will have a couple guitars and a keyboard (and mics) – any other instruments you’d have to bring yourselves! Prizes will be announced at the performance.
