Jonathan Safran Foer already does a good enough job using words to move the reader but Victoria has used the lack of words to do just that. The finished sentence made me think twice about the use of words and how removing some can give even more meaning. The lack of words actually adds meaning and that’s an amazing thing to me.

Also, Maya’s second blackout poem sent chills down my spine with the “crack in who I was.” That was such an amazing choice of words to keep. It’s interesting to look at how different two people’s decisions were in the choices of words to keep or delete. I can only imagine this on a grander scale, with hundreds of people given the same couple of lines and having to create blackout poetry. I can’t help but wonder if some would turn out exactly the same, or if they would all be very unique.
