Welcome to a new year in SPACE
Welcome to a new year in SPACE–Dawson’s home for interdisciplinary discussion about issues important to you and to the community.
After Exploring the Senses two years ago and Exploring Eureka Moments last year, we are inviting everyone across the college this year to join us in Exploring the Future. Join a vibrant, interdisciplinary, year-long discussion by attending stimulating events, exploring our new web magazine (accessible through the Dawson homepage), and sharing your own work. Whether it’s work on the future or any other topic of interest to you, if you have something to share, something you think would be relevant and engaging to others, including people in other disciplines, we’d love to help you share it!
Check out some of the new student works that are kicking off our exploration of the future, and leave comments on them!
Check out our first event, on Wednesday, September 7 from 6:00-7:30 in the boardroom, 5B.13, with special guest speaker Dr. Joe Schwarcz from McGill talking about the Future of Science Education. (All welcome, and refreshments will be served!)
Stay tuned for upcoming events, which will include a performance by Montreal’s premiere Improv Troupe, Uncalled For; a peace garden tour; our annual poster unveiling; and, next semester, an incredible exhibition in the Warren G. Flowers gallery on the Cities of the Future.
SPACE is a unique forum at Dawson for you to discuss and share ideas with the broader community, explore different perspectives from across the disciplinary spectrum, and expand your universe. We’ve got an exciting year ahead, and we believe that everyone has the potential to contribute something meaningful to it. So get in touch, enjoy the start of the school year, and help shape the future... in SPACE.
