S.P.A.C.E. (Sciences Participating with Arts and Culture in Education) and the Fine Arts Department are delighted to welcome founder of Onishka Productions and the event and live-arts platform Indigenous Contemporary Scene, Émilie Monnet to Dawson College.
Monnet’s interdisciplinary practice is inspired by years of social activism with Indigenous organizations in Canada and Latin America, and brings together her educational background in theatre, media arts, and peace building. Since the creation of Onishka, she has produced a number of solo and collaborative performances exploring the interconnections between identity, memory, and language, including most recently her immersive and multi-lingual show Okinum, being performed at Théâtre d'Aujourd'hui throughout October.
Join us on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 for the unique opportunity to hear the artist speak about her artistic practice, her current projects, and her role as a social activist across the cultural spectrum in Montreal. We look forward to seeing you there!
