Today’s world is shaped by rapid changes in AI, climate science, biotechnology, and global systems. Solving the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the AI era requires people who can connect ideas across disciplines, think critically, and approach problems from scientific, creative, cultural, and technological perspectives.
SPACE is built on experiential learning, curiosity, and collaboration. It’s a place to think, make, experiment, and share beyond the classroom.
And the SPACE Certificate recognizes students who take that journey.
Show universities and employers that you can connect scientific thinking with creative, analytical, and technical work. Create projects that show who you are—your interests, skills, and creative or scientific abilities.
Meet peers and faculty across all programs who value curiosity, creativity, and critical inquiry.
Join internships, activities, and workshops that blend science with culture, design, engineering, philosophy, humanities, AI, sustainability, astronomy, robotics, and more.
The certificate recognizes your initiative, creativity, and commitment to interdisciplinary learning. Build your CV and experience while learning about things that matter to you.
You complete three components
Take part in workshops, talks, exhibitions, maker sessions, or AI/digital humanities labs. Choose what inspires you.
A small, self-directed project—creative, scientific, analytical, or technical—that helps you explore an idea that matters to you.
A larger independent project that grows from your FK or takes you in a new direction. You present or publish it in an annual SPACE venue like the website or Showcase.
