SPACEcorp Projects W2022

Return to description.

Certificate students may lead or collaborate on projects to obtain co-curricular credits, or complete the capstone requirement. For students who are not able to satisfy the foundational knowledge requirement through coursework, guidelines for completing a mini-project that satisfies this will be provided in a separate entry on the SPACE website and circulated via email. The following information presents context for capstone or co-curricular projects along with instructions for proposing yours.

Capstone Project

Within the context of a single course or through an independent project, students will complete a capstone integrating activity that applies the foundational knowledge of the certificate.

The capstone is to be done with approval from a SPACE Learning Community faculty member:

§  through a program-specific integrating activity (e.g., IA, IS, and CE)
§  as an independent project generated by the student

Note that proposals can be integrated from any of the courses cross-listed in the certificate or from co-curricular activities, conditional on approval by SPACE coordinator.

Students will be required to submit a proposal to SPACE indicating how the independent capstone project will apply the foundational knowledge of the SPACE certificate and how it may be shared or presented within the SPACE LC.
