Note that SPACE certificate students will receive 6 activity credits for successful completion of the challenge and may use this as the core element of their Foundational Knowledge project.
Join the 2025 NASA Space Apps Challenge, the largest annual global hackathon on October 4-5!
The NASA International Space Apps Challenge is the largest annual global hackathon. This two-day event creates innovation through international collaboration by providing an opportunity for participants to utilize NASA’s free and open data and its Space Agency Partners’ space-based data to address real-world problems on Earth and in space. No programming experience needed!
Challenges are developed by NASA Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and encompass a wide variety of topics from Earth and space science to the arts. More information of the challenges can be found here: challenges.

How to get involved.
Join a local in-person event or participate through the universal virtual event with the NASA global organizing team and hack from anywhere. See information here. If there is enough interest SPACE will support the organization of students registered for the global virtual event.
