Are you interested in learning how to program, which has rapidly become an essential part of any scientist’s toolkit? Good news! We have two events which may interest you! You won’t want to miss:
A weekend-long, friendly computer programming competition where the focus is on learning and being creative! Your challenge: to code up something cool related to the physical sciences! Learn more here and sign up here
Dawson teams have competed for the last several years and won prizes!
Hackathon participation counts for 3 credits toward the SPACE certificate with options for an additional credit (+2) outcome such as writeup to SPACE website or demonstration at a later date.
We will help with team formation and run an info session at a time to be determined. SPACE students will be helped with developing their initial ideas for hackathon projects. Even if you have no programming experience this is a great chance to learn something and apply your physics knowledge in a creative way.
Weekly programming workshops, covering everything from the powerful language Python, to Arduinos, to machine learning! Register here. Learn more about the workshops here.
Participation in any workshop counts for 2 credits toward the SPACE certificate.
Fill out the form below if you are interested in registering for the hackthon. If you have already registered, indicate that in the message field. For students who participate in any of the Codetober workshops, contact Joel Trudeau [ jtrudeau@dawsoncollege.qc.ca ] and indicate which workshops you have taken.
