Astro Pi Mission Space Lab

Return to description.

Note that SPACE certificate students will receive 6-9 activity credits for participation and completion of the mission.

Join the Mission Space Lab: Design an Experiment for the International Space Station!

Have you ever dreamed of conducting your own science experiment in space? The European Space Agency (ESA) and Raspberry Pi Foundation are inviting students to take part in Mission Space Lab – a unique opportunity to run your experiment aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Mission Space Lab offers teams the chance to design and code an experiment to be carried out by Raspberry Pi computers on the ISS. Whether you are interested in studying Earth’s atmosphere, exploring life in space, or creating innovative machine learning applications in orbit, this mission is for you!

Why participate?

  • Real-world scientific research: Experience what it’s like to be a space scientist by designing your own experiment.
  • Hands-on learning: Develop skills in programming, data analysis, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • See your work in space: Your experiment could be executed by astronauts on the ISS!

Who can participate:
This call is open to certificate students who are passionate about space, science, and technology.  No programming experience needed.

What’s next?
Visit the Mission Space Lab website for detailed information on the mission requirements and to explore resources available to you. Indicate your interest to participate by filling out the form below. We will be holding an information session in the month of November to organize teams and begin planning for the Space Mission Lab projects.
