To help celebrate Black History Month, Byron Toben will host a tribute to the great singer, scholar, civil-rights leader, and political activist Paul Robeson. Variously known as the “Great Forerunner”, the “first proud African-American”, or “the most dangerous man in America”, Robeson’s legacy was erased because of political persecution in the 1950’s. Montrealers Tom Fox and Andrew Cowan will sing the songs and tell the story of Robeson’s life.
