A Chorus of Disapproval

A CHORUS OF DISAPPROVAL BY ALAN AYCKBOURN
DIRECTED BY W. STEVEN LECKY
PRESENTED BY THE GRADUATING STUDENTS OF THE PROFESSIONAL THEATRE PROGRAM

Sex. Greed. Corruption.

Just another day at the amateur light opera company.

Guy is a young, handsome but shy widower who joins an amateur operatic society that is putting on The Beggar’s Opera. He’s an instant hit with the director and the leading ladies – including the director’s wife. The ladies go after him, and Guy doesn’t resist! He gets embroiled in a shady land deal, stirs up big trouble offstage and ends up with the lead role.

The action onstage mirrors the action offstage in this brilliantly intricate comedy. Is art imitating life? Or is life imitating art? Alan Aykbourn lures you into a mad world of colourful characters, big dreams and big egos.

Come and enjoy the work of these young talented actors as they present an amazing journey of storytelling filled with romance, intrigue, comedy and delightful musical moments from the Beggar’s Opera.

A promise of passion, fun – and great entertainment.
